Kindness
Ivry, july 2014.
There are codes that now seem shared. Due to the standardization of road signs, red became the color to indicate ban, would it be “do not play” or “do not park”. Conversely, blue embodies the color of authorization, permission or thoughtfulness.
This sign is blue but it does not authorize: it reminds you that the area under it is not designed to accommodate your waste. And for this, rather than red signing, it uses your kindness, and it thanks you, while you were going you to litter, not to do so. Scriptopolians know that signage is not everything and rather than acting as incarnations of authority, relays of laws, judges and representatives of public order, it can be reduced to mere signs. So sometimes, rather banning, is it better to coax.
