Strike, well almost

greve

With protests and strikes comes writing. Banners, signs, flyers. If you have something to say when you are on the streets or in front of a factory, you better write it down somewhere. Make sure the words remain, stand besides you. So you can literally hold them, raise them. What’s more, they will probably multiply and survive the moment, reproduced in newspapers, displayed on TV and on computers.
Written words are so strong, they sometimes are at the core of the protest, becoming its sole means. It has been one year and a half since these security officers started struggling for their rights. Collective agreements are still blocked. But strikes here are pretty rare and they did not stop working. No transportation users have been worried, no ‘hostages’ have been taken. Instead, while the uniforms were transformed into a media for their claims, we all became witnesses of their struggle. And potential supporters.
